Where to start......
Hi, I'm Pam (aka pam0586 on the WW forum). Most of you probably don't know much about me or my weightloss journey so far, so thought my first blog should fill you in!
In May 2007, after months of gaining weight, I decided that I should do something about my weight. I had never been slim, I was always chubby as a child and through my teens, but I had just turned 21 and decided that enough was enough. So, at 16 stone 7lbs, I decided to start on Lighter Life (where you eat nothing but foodpacks provided by them, around 500cals a day). I lasted 6days, eventually succumbing to a ham and cheese sandwich! I lost 7lbs which I quickly put back on.
By September 2007 I was down to 16stone, not due to dieting, but probably due to walking my dog who I hadn't long got! So again, despite how badly I did the first time, I decided to go onto Lighter Life again. I knew I had to do something about my weight, and the quick weight loss again appealed to me. So this time, I made myself stick it out. By day 3 I couldn't face another milkshake or soup so I survived on the one bar we were allowed a day. As the days turned into weeks, I would binge all weekend on takeaways and chocolate, then eat either half a bar or nothing at all until my weigh in day.
I lost weight (obviously considering I ate next to nothing all week) and managed to get down to 13stone 4. After only 2 months off Lighter Life, I was back up to 15stone 4. I was so annoyed at myself, but I can see now how unsustainable the weight loss was!
In March, and still weighing 15stone 4, I joined Slimming World. Despite eating my weight in food, I was so pleased to lose 7lbs in the first week! So I celebrated with a steak pie and never managed to get back into the swing of things. I gradually lost weight myself through healthy eating and exercise, getting down to 14stone 5, before deciding that I really couldn't do this alone, and that's when I made possibly the best decision of my life, by joining Weight Watchers.
Weight watchers has now helped me to lose just over 2 stone, and I'm now down to 12stone 4.5lbs, the lightest I've weighed since I was 17!
I will get some before pictures put up soon, quite new to this so may take a wee while!
Thanks for reading, I will try to update every WI (which is a Saturday).
Bye!
